About
what our Clients say
Sally Liu, Conservation Scientist, The Nature Conservancy
“We cannot thank you enough for your brilliant design work and web development work. We have gotten countless compliments for the clean and concise design of the website – how easy it is to maneuver around, how well things are laid out, and just flat out–how nice the website looks. We at The Nature Conservancy thank you for working so closely with us as we entered content and had questions and last minute changes.”
Ryan Ernst, Director of Marketing, Green Music Center
“We were seeking a brand new website on a very short deadline, and Ginny Laughlin delivered excellent results on all fronts. She carefully listened to our ideas and was able to incorporate all of our needs and wishes into a beautiful and dynamic site. Ginny’s attention to detail is evident in her highly polished and well thought-out concepts. Even with very compressed timelines, Ginny provided us with an attractive and user-friendly website, and spent time teaching our team how to modify and maintain the site. We are very appreciative of Ginny’s hard work, creativity, responsiveness, and her wonderful demeanor. It was a pleasure doing business with Athena Design.”
Sheri Cardo,
Director of Communications,
Sonoma Land Trust
“We truly don’t know what we’d do without Ginny Laughlin. We depend on her for all of our online marketing needs, from designing and maintaining our Web site, to designing our eNewsletter and eAppeals, to advising us on online trends, and more — and we are always pleased with the technical expertise, creativity, business savvy and follow through.”
Susan Gwynne, Vice President for Marketing & Communications, Music Academy of the West
“Creating the visual design of a new website for the Music Academy of the West presented many challenges, including attending and responding to the individual aesthetic tastes of seven managers, expressing the character of our campus and the distinguished history of this institution, and anticipating the preferences of various user groups. It seems that you succeeded on all counts. The site is beautiful and dignified (but certainly not stuffy). It is a pleasure to look at and use. Furthermore, you were wonderful to work with: calm, attentive, creative, flexible, and generous. Thank you for both for a successful product and an enjoyable process.”
Renata Brillinger, Director, California Climate & Agriculture Network (CalCAN)
“Thank you so much for guiding us through what has been now about a year-long process! We are really pleased with the new site, and in fact just the other day a colleague mentioned how well-designed, easy to navigate and well organized it is. I remember talking with you about how we needed the website to reflect the degree of professionalism and credibility that we have built in our 10 years of work, and with your partnership, and I believe that it does that now.”

about Our Creative Director
Ginny Laughlin has designed the online presence for both the Marin Watershed Program and Sonoma Land Trust for many years. Before opening her own firm in Sonoma County in 2007, she was a web designer and developer at Sonoma State University. During the inaugural years of the prestigious Green Music Center at SSU, Ginny was called upon to design the website, print marketing and signage. Designing for environmental organizations, as well as wineries, music venues, and small businesses has been the focus.
Ginny has been an art director and designer at Elektra Asylum and Motown Records, has designed catalogs for Patagonia, and marketing for Disney and CBS. She has designed packaging (LPs and CDs) for Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Diana Ross, Judy Collins, The Four Tops, The Temptations, Ray Charles, Al Green, and many more. She was a voting member for the Grammy awards in Los Angeles for a decade.
Ginny taught graphic design for 13 years at Otis Art Institute, Cal Arts, and CSU Northridge. She did her undergrad work at Art Center College of Design and she holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree from CSULA. She currently serves on the Graphic Design Advisory Board at Santa Rosa Community College.
